As
Nan
and Ian were on holiday this week the congregation
would like to take the
opportunity to express their
heartfelt thanks to Pastor Mark
and Fiona Henry for their encouragement in both
word and song as they led worship
last Sunday.
Full of enthusiasm Mark exuberantly
and skillfully harmonised
several passages of scripture
to establish his glorious
message concerning the precious
Word of God.
"Judas (not Iscariot) said, "Lord how is it that you will manifest yourself to us, and not to the world?' Jesus answered him, "If anyone loves me, they will keep my word, and my Father will
love them and we will
come to them and make our
home with them. Whoever does
not love me does not keep my
words; and the word which you
hear is not mine but the Father's
who sent me." (John 14:22-25.)
Christ has made great
and precious promises to
believers:
"Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men " (Matthew
4:19
); "I wilt build My church " (Matthew
16:18
); "I will send Him (The Holy Spirit) to you " (John
17:17
); 'Let not your hearts
be troubled; believe in God,
believe also in Me. In my
Father's house are many rooms;
if it were not so, would I
have told you that I go and prepare
a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for
you I will come again and will take you to
myself" (John
14:1-3).
Christ is a faithful Saviour, true to His word. There is no falseness with Him. All His decrees are unalterable,
and all His promises inviolable. Therefore
dear brother and sisters
in the Lord, let His faithfulness
excite and encourage us
to be faithful. Let us depend more
upon His promises to us, and
let us plead with Him the promise
of grace sufficient, for He
is true to His word, "If you ask anything in My Name, I will do it" (John 14:14).
